First, we will explore Koh Ker, a remote archaeological site in Northern Cambodia 120 kilometers away from Siem Reap. Koh Ker is considered to be the ancient site of Angkor, was the short-lived capital of the Khmer empire between 928 and 944 AD with an impressive number of temples built. Hundreds of sanctuaries are hidden inside the vast forest as well as a variety of remarkable sculptures left despite having been plundered by looters in the past.
Some sanctuary highlights in Koh Ker visit are the Prasat Pram, a very striking temple with its towers wrapped with fig strangler trees; the Prasat Thom, a pyramid with seven tiers with its unique vantage point of view; and some smaller temples with distinctive characteristics.
Next destination will be a temple in the jungle, Beng Melea, with architectural style identical to that of Angkor Wat. Little is known about the history of this temple but it is considered as one of the Khmer empire’s larger temples. The superiority of architecture in Beng Melea is quite extraordinary, you will be certain to take a number of unique photos.
Your guide will assist you every step of the way to make sure that all your camera settings are correct for you to able to capture the best photos from the tour. Along the way, stops at certain spots will be made so you can learn about composition, exposure control, and controlled lighting, as well as some special techniques.
