Before pursuing his long time passion in photography, Laurent, with both Ph.D. degree and MBA degree from France, had spent over a decade in the corporate world doing research and development for a number of organizations in North America, Europe and South East Asia. He began to realize his passion in photography when he picked up his first film camera in 1991. Even being successful in his career as a research scientist, he decided to focus his attention to what he loves doing the most -photography and travel.
His photo and video works have been distributed for over 10 years now by several stock agencies such as Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Pond5, Alamy, Age Fotostock. With a scientific approach to photography, he likes experimenting with new techniques such as Light Painting, Time-Lapse and Long Exposure.
He started videography in 2009 with time-lapse and now does some production of small video clips for local businesses. An early adopter in technology, Laurent continues to learn, evolve and mature as an artist along with new imaging equipment and editing software.
Living for more than three years in Siem Reap, Laurent witnessed over 200 sunrises at Angkor Wat temple. With hundreds of photography hours tutoring under his belt, he is extremely knowledgeable of the best shooting locations in the temples of Angkor and in the surrounding countryside. His travel photography clients include Fortune 500 and prestigious organizations such as Google, Ebay, Apple, HP, J.P. Morgan Chase, Uber, Paypal, Facebook, GoPro, Netflix, CNN, NBC, Fox Sports, Mitsubishi bank, PWC, Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg, LinkedIn, Red Hat, Siemens, Samsung,Continental, MIT, A*STAR Singapore…

Beyond the temples of Angkor, he explored and captured the temples of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai in Thailand, the archaeological parks of Bagan and Mrauk-U and the lost temples of Inle Lake in Myanmar, My Son sanctuary in Central Vietnam. In 2016, he co-lead a 14-day photography expedition in the majestic Indian Himalayas of Ladakh India and a 3-day workshop in Hoi An Central Vietnam in 2017. He also runs a photowalk in Yangon and a photography expedition in Myanmar and a photography expedition in Sri Lanka.

PHOTOGRAPHER SIEM REAP | HIGHLIGHTS
2020: Commissioned par Canon Japan to identify and shot photography and 4k footage in Angkor Wat during the day and the night. These visuals were used for the production of a short movie Starry Globe at the Konica Minolta Planetaria Tokyo in Japan to be played in July 2020 (trailer). During this time he was the first photographer to have a special access to capture the moon, stars and Milky Way from the inside of Angkor Wat temple. This movie is still playing one year after the opening.
2018: panelist at the jury for the European Union Year of Cultural Heritage Photo Competition to judge a serie of photographs taken by youg Cambodian photographers.
2017: teacher of during the 3-day Canon Photo Clinic for Angkor Photo Festival to a selected group of local photographers winners of the Canon photo marathon in Phnom Penh.
