SIEM REAP PHOTO TOUR PRESENTATION
Embark on an immersive 3 to 5 days private photography expedition in Siem Reap, designed to maximize your photographic opportunities. Our journey covers a diverse 60 km radius around the city. The area around Siem Reap has much to offer for photographers with the iconic and lesser-known Angkor temples, the big Tonle Sap lake (subject to seasonal conditions), the lush cambodian countryside (best during July-November green season), rice paddies, colorful monasteries with saffran robe monks. Complementing these scenic locations are the warm and friendly Cambodian people in local villages, whose genuine smiles and daily lives you’ll capture in local food markets, quaint countryside villages, and amidst the ancient stones of Angkor’s temples. This expedition provides opportunities to refine and expand your photography techniques in a variety of environments and lighting scenarios. By the journey’s end, you’ll have a collection of memorable picturesย that encapsulate the essence of your Cambodian experience and encounters.
Limited to just a few participants, we provide personalized photography guidance throughout, helping you refine both composition and exposure techniques. Our small group size allows for discreet and respectful photography in local markets and monasteries.
For an extended experience, please have a look at our 12-day Cambodia photo tour.
WHY SHOULD YOU BOOK THIS PHOTO TOUR?
๐๐ย DIVERSE AND RICH CONTENT: ANCIEN TEMPLES AND CULTURE
We designed this multi-day photo tour with in mind to have balanced blend of ancient temples and street photography : lush countryside, villages, local monasteries. This experience will give you insights into Cambodia’s history and cultural heritage, while also providing numerous chances to capture memorable photographs.
Our journey features the legendary iconic temples of Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon, complemented by a curated selection of photogenic hidden gems within the Angkor Archaeological Park. We’ll also visit the secluded Beng Mealea temple, offering a glimpse into Cambodia’s lesser-known temples.
๐ ๐ฐ๏ธ FLEXIBILITY IN CONTENT AND SCHEDULE
We are happy to customize your program to include any special requests, such as visiting the Banteay Srei temple for example. Please note that Cambodia’s tropical climate, with its high temperatures and humidity, can be physically demanding during our photography tours. Our typical temple explorations involve walking several kilometers each day through the temple grounds.
We recommend taking a midday break, which serves two purposes: it allows you to rest and enjoy your resort’s amenities while also avoiding the harsh midday sunlight that can be challenging for photography. However, if you prefer to maximize your time and fit more photography shooting time into your 3-4 day stay, we can certainly adjust the schedule to reduce these breaks according to your preferences.
โ๏ธBEST LIGHT AND MINIMAL CROWD
We carefully designed each itinerary, scheduling each temple visit during optimal lighting conditions while avoiding crowded periods. This planning ensures you will capture the temples in their best light, with minimal interference โ ideal conditions for great photography.
๐ฅ ๐ท ONE TO ONE PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDANCE
Throughout this photo tour, I’ll guide you in discovering the most compelling angles at each location and share creative composition techniques to make your images stand out. We can also cover essential photography fundamentals on-site, including mastering the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) and working with different shooting modes such as aperture priority and full manual mode.
. For challenging lighting conditions, we’ll explore advanced techniques based on your camera equipment, such as using neutral density filters, exposure bracketing, or your camera’s HDR mode when available.
SIEM REAP PHOTO TOUR | “A good balance between the amazing ancient temples, as well as authentic daily lives of Khmer people today”
Desmond, Australia
We had a very enjoyable, satisfying and productive photographic tour with Laurent. On a 4-day tour, Laurent was able to suggest a balanced and realistic itinerary, which he had discussed with us in detail a few months ahead, taking into account what we were interested in photographing.
A good balance between the amazing ancient temples, as well as authentic daily lives of Khmer people today. Laurent took us to the “must-see” temples at appropriate times, taking into account lighting, crowds and weather. You will get those iconic shots, and perhaps even with a monk or two in the foreground! More than just a tour guide, Laurent was able to provide expertise about camera angles and perspectives which take you beyond shooting postcards.
Just as importantly, Laurent took us to villages, local markets, and modern working monasteries, where we were able to photograph the people comfortably. Clearly he has a relationship with them already, and so the people were happy and cooperative.
Laurent is reliable and punctual, providing an air-conditioned Lexus 4WD and dedicated driver. I can strongly recommend Laurent if you are a novice or advanced photographer, and is also welcoming of companion travellers who are not necessarily photographers.
